What actually happens to information on this site and in the displays we make

1. Who we are
NFCDISPLAYCO LTD, company number 17218430, Urmston, Manchester, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for everything in sections 2 to 5. Contact us about anything on this page at nfcdisplayco@gmail.com.
2. When you ask for a quote
The quote form asks for your name, business name, email address and phone number, along with the choices you make about the product — sizes, colours, which review or social platforms you want, any notes, and a link to your branding if you give one.
That is emailed to us so we can reply with a design and a price. We keep it in our email while we are dealing with your enquiry and for as long as we are doing business together. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract. We do not sell it and we do not add you to a mailing list.
If you upload a logo for the design preview, the image is stored on our server outside the public web folder, resized, and given a random filename. Only the 400 most recent uploads are kept — older ones are deleted automatically.
3. If you have a dashboard login
For customers with displays we hold a business name, an email address, and your password stored as a one-way hash we cannot read. We use it to run your account. Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you.
4. When someone taps a display
We record that a tap happened: which display, the date and time, and whether it was an iPhone, an Android or something else.
We do not record the IP address, and we do not set a cookie. That is a deliberate choice — we cannot identify the person who tapped, and neither can the venue. The numbers are counts, not people.
5. When you visit this website
We count page views: the date and which page. Nothing else — no cookies, no IP address, no browser details, no third-party analytics. There is nothing here that can follow you between sites, which is why this site has no cookie banner.
The only cookie we set anywhere is the login session on the dashboard at /app/, which is required for signing in to work and is exempt from consent rules.
6. If you join a venue’s newsletter through one of our displays
Some venues turn on a page that appears after a tap, offering their newsletter. If you tick that box and enter your email address, we store the address, the date you agreed and which display you used.
That list belongs to the venue, not to us. They are the data controller and we hold it on their behalf as their processor, under our Data Processing Agreement. We do not email you ourselves, we do not sell the list, and we do not use it for anything except showing it to that venue. If you want to be removed, ask the venue, or ask us and we will pass it on and delete it from our side.
The box is never ticked for you. Leaving it alone does not stop you leaving a review.
7. Who else sees any of this
Our website and database are hosted by Hostinger in the EU. Quote enquiries arrive in our email, which is Gmail. Beyond that we do not share personal data with anyone, and we do not sell it to anyone, ever.
When you tap a display you are sent on to Google, Tripadvisor, Instagram, Facebook, Trustpilot or TikTok, depending on what the venue chose. Once you arrive there you are on their website and their own privacy policy applies. We are not told whether you left a review, and we cannot be — those companies do not share that with anyone.
8. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email nfcdisplayco@gmail.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Changes
If we change how any of this works we will update this page and change the date at the top.
